Mabel G. (Bence) McCra, 78, of Prince George, VA, formerly of New Bedford died February 19th 2002 at Southside Regional Medical Center.
She was the wife of the late Henry McCra, and daughter of the late Frederick and Inez (Provencher) Bence.
Mrs. McCra was born in Dartmouth, Mass., and had lived in New Bedford, for most of her life. She had also lived in Hartford, Conn., Van Nuys, Cal., and Venice, Fla., before moving to Virginia in 2000.
Survivors include a son, George T. Taber, Jr., and his wife Linda, of Prince George; 2 sisters, Inez Cookman and Helen Beaulieu, both of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren, Kimberly Burnell of New Bedford, and Michael Taber of Prince George; 2 great-grandchildren, Katelyn Burnell of New Bedford and Jordan Taber of Prince George; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Lois Sherman, Edith Desmarais, Frederick Bence, Jr., Raymond Bence, William Bence, Roy Bence, Melvin Bence and Earl Bence.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Saturday, February 23rd at 10:30 AM.
Visiting hours Friday, February 22nd from 3-7 PM.
Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery.
