Joseph C. "Cuzzin Joe" Almeida, Jr., 91, of Dartmouth died Wednesday February 29, 2012. He was the beloved husband for 62 years of Charlotte (Crowell) Almeida, and the beloved father of David Joseph Almeida and Jane Heroux and her husband Richard. He was the son of the late Joseph Almeida Sr. and Maria (Medeiros) Almeida, and brother of Alice Harrison and the late Leontina Rego and Anibal Almeida.
Joe worked for many years at Otis Air Force Base, first in the commissary and later as a Department of Defense police officer.
Joe loved making the "rounds" to visit his many friends each day. He also was an ardent Yankees fan and would always predict that they would win the next World Series. He also enjoyed camping and spent many summers traveling New England with his wife.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery.
