Vivian Lee Reid, 91, crossed over to heaven on February 29, 2012. She was born on November 19, 1920 in Muhlenberg Co, Kentucky. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1938 and from Bowling Green Business School and Western Kentucky University.
Her parents Shirley Edgar Edwards (12/Oct/1896-08/Apr/1957) and Ida Mae Heltsley Edwards (22/Apr/1901-22/Dec/1972). She was married (1950) to USAF pilot Capt. Richard Ellis Hines, Sr. (26/Jul/1921-04/Dec/1952, Korean War) and the remarried (1964) to Ambrose Ramsey Reid, Jr. (22/Sep/1922-15/Dec/1996).
She is survived by her son, Richard E. Hines, Jr. (wife Pamela A. Hines) of Clarksville, TN; two grandsons, USCG E-6 Shawn Hines (wife Ashley Sulsar Hines) of St. Mary's, GA and Josh Hines of Little Rock, AR. One great- granddaughter, Avery Grace Hines of St. Mary's, GA.
Vivian worked several years in Chicago, IL and Nashville, TN as a secretary and she was a member of the Methodist Church and Book Club in Greenville, KY. She worked with TVA Paradise Fossil Plant where she met her second husband, Ambrose R. Reid. They lived in Russellville, KY and later retired to Daytona Beach, FL where she and Ambrose enjoyed the fine arts and travel.
