Obituary

Turner, Veronica T. (Stutz) of Dedham died on February 28, 2012. Age 99. She was the widow of Charles D. Turner. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Stutz and Elizabeth (Miltowitz) Stutz of Dedham; sister of the late John and Jacob Stutz; mother of Elizabeth (Betty) Casey of Fremont, CA and Priscilla Turner Spada (husband, Richard) of Newburyport, MA; grandmother of Gary J. Casey, Jean Casey, Kristen Burbridge (husband, Gary) Steven Casey (wife, Grace) and Noel Spada (wife, Caroline). Great Grandmother of Casey Bettencourt, Nicholas and Veronica Burbridge, Daisy Gin-Casey and Amanda and Jamie Nichols all of CA.

Veronica was born and lived most of her life in her childhood home in Dedham. Her husband died as a corpsman (USN) at Guadalcanal in WWII, leaving her to raise her daughters alone, which she did admirably. Hers was a unique spirit, full of curiosity, quiet and brave in facing life’s challenges. She had a great smile that lit up the room. She loved reading, sewing, cats, chocolate, ice cream, and the Red Sox. She loved and will be missed by her friends, especially Nellie and Sally, and her extended family. She was a gracious kind lady, with a strong faith, right into her 100th year.
