Obituary

RAYNHAM – Richard F. “Crash” Travers, a longtime Raynham resident, died at Golden Living Center Middleboro on Feb. 27, 2012.
He was 73.
Born and raised in Taunton, he was the son of the late John S. and Claire (Savoie) Travers.
A graduate of Taunton High School, he attended Johnson & Wales University and served in the U.S. Marine Corp for six years.
Mr Travers was employed as a manufacturing technician for many years, retiring in 2001.
Following retirement, he worked as a bartender and cook at the former Double Twelve Lounge in East Taunton.
Survivors include his former wife, Barbara (Sullivan) Travers of E. Taunton; a son, Richard P. Travers of E. Taunton; three daughters, Linda Henault of Berkley, Tracy Tinkham of Taunton, and Stacy Jette of FL; two brothers, John Travers of FL, and Ronald Travers of Rockland; three sisters, Elaine Cloutier of Maine, Jean Kelly of FL, and Louise Whalen of Lakeville; eight grandchildren; his dog and longtime friend, Louie: and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, March 3rd at 4 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
The family will receive visitors between the hours of 2 and 4 p.m. prior to the Services.
