Obituary

Thomas P. Reynolds, 74, of Worcester, passed away on February 27 surrounded by his family after an illness. Mr. Reynolds is survived by his wife of 50 years, Suzanne M. (Chenard) Reynolds; his daughter Patricia A. and her husband James M. Flagg, II of Millbury; six sons, John M. Reynolds and his wife Norann, Stephen P. Reynolds and Denis T. Reynolds, all of Worcester; Michael J. Reynolds and his wife Carol of Marlboro; Kevin F. Reynolds of Providence, RI, and Timothy C. Reynolds and his wife Jennifer of Dudley. Mr. Reynolds leaves ten grandchildren; Patrick, Thomas, Meghan, Katelyn, Mackenzie and John Reynolds; James, III, Michael and Thomas Flagg; and Juan Morales. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Elizabeth (Logan) Reynolds; his sister Patricia Graham; and four brothers, Francis, James, Rev. John, and Robert Reynolds.

Born in Worcester, Mr. Reynolds graduated from St. Peter’s High School and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. from 1956-1959. He subsequently graduated from Worcester State University and began teaching at Grafton Street Jr. High, which later became Worcester East Middle School. Mr. Reynolds served as the Head of the English Department for many years. Mr. Reynolds retired in 1992 after being appointed Vice-Principal two years prior. For many years Mr. Reynolds coached and refereed soccer and basketball in several area divisions; he also worked at Fairlawn Liquors in Shrewsbury for nearly 30 years.

A member of the Knights of Columbus and the Massachusetts Retired Teacher’s Association, Mr. Reynolds’ greatest joys included spending time with his family vacationing in Maine and attending sporting events for his children and later, grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Friday, March 2nd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a Mass at 12:00 P.M. at St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 1st from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
