Martinez, GA – Bernice L. Leonard, 79, wife of the late John P. Leonard, entered into rest on Monday, February 27, 2012.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, March 2, 2012 at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC.
Bernice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and the Augusta Area Newcomers Club. She was also active in various Bridge clubs and Garden clubs in the area. Bernice was an accomplished painter and enjoyed bird watching. She attended the Advent Christian Church of Jacksonville in Jacksonville, FL.
Survivors include her son Dr. Robert A. Leonard and wife Julie of Martinez, GA, daughter, Vivian Leonard Turnbull and husband Thomas of Arnold, MD, one brother, David Bricker and wife Robin of Dublin, OH, six grandchildren, Katelyn J. Leonard, Carla and MAJ. John McArthur, U.S. A., Barbara and Brad Elder, Stephen and Phon Wikoff, Ryan P. Turnbull, LT. Keith P. Turnbull, U.S. N., and Thanh Ly-Turnbull, six great grandchildren, Alexandra McArthur, Ciara McArthur, Cameron McArthur, Arden McArthur, Sadie May Elder, and Mason Wikoff.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
