Gertrude S. Rivard 90, of Pond St. died Friday at the Friendly Home. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Mathias and Anne Marie (Charette) Rivard. She worked as an assembler for General Electric for twenty two years before retiring. Gert was an avid card player and also loved to fish, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her close friend Margie Richer at her summer home at Horseneck Beach overlooking the ocean.
She is survived by her brother Normand Rivard and his wife Constance of Woonsocket, eight nieces and nephews, Deborah Baro and Christopher Rivard both of Blackstone, MA; Gisele Golembeski and Russell Rivard both of Woonsocket; Michael Rivard of Kansas City, MO; Barbara Allen and Bruce Burlingame both of North Smithfield; Leslie Lemanski of Rehoboth, MA, and several great nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Lucia Tellier, and Lorenza Burlingame.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday March 3rd at 10:00 AM in St. Charles Church, North Main St. Woonsocket. The family will receive guests at 9:30 AM prior to Mass.
