EDITH EVANS, 97, OF DEDHAM, FORMERLY OF MEDFIELD, DIED PEACEFULLY IN HER SLEEP ON FRIDAY, APRIL 2 AT THE AVERY MANOR NURSING HOME. BORN IN UPPERLANDS, N. IRELAND, SHE CAME TO THE UNITED STATES IN 1934 AS A BRIDE AND MADE HER HOME IN NEW YORK, LATER FOLLOWED BY HOMES IN SIMSBURY, CT, DENNIS, CAPE COD AND MEDFIELD, MA. SHE MOST RECENTLY WAS A RESIDENT OF BRIGHTON GARDENS IN DEDHAM. SHE WAS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE CHRISTADELPHIAN CHURCH OF STOUGHTON WHERE SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER CHERISHED BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST. SHE WAS THE BELOVED WIFE FOR 61 YEARS OF THE LATE ARTHUR M EVANS. SHE IS SURVIVED BY TWO CHILDREN, RONALD ARTHUR EVANS AND HIS WIFE ROSEMARY OF SARASOTA, FL AND NANCY DAVIS AND HER HUSBAND BOB OF NEEDHAM, MA; FOUR GRANDCHILDREN, DONNA EVANS OF SARASOTA FL, DAVID EVANS AND HIS WIFE TRUDY OF SARASOTA, STEPHEN DAVID AND HIS WIFE SANDRA OF MANSFIELD, MA AND SUSAN DAVIS STEWART AND HER HUSBAND STEVEN OF CARLSBAD, CA; AND TEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, ANDREW NEAL, CASSIDY AND TANNER EVANS, PAUL, JOHN, DANIEL AND PETER DAVIS AND JESSICA, DAVID AND JULIE STEWART. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT THE EATON FUNERAL HOME, 1351 HIGHLAND AVE NEEDHAM ON FRIDAY APRIL 9 AT 11:00 AM FOLLOWED BY BURIAL AT THE NEEDHAM CEMETERY. VISITING HOURS WILL BE ON THURSDAY FROM 7-9 PM. AND PRIOR TO THE SERVICE FROM 10-11:00 AM.
