BRIDGEWATER - Patrick J. Murray, 74, of Bridgewater died Friday, April 2, 2004, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth after a brief illness. He was the husband of Beverly P. (Perry) Murray.
Born in Stafford Springs, Conn., the son of the late Maurice C. and Margaret (Cusick) Murray, he was a Bridgewater resident for the past 40 years.
He graduated from Stafford High School in 1947 and Bentley College in 1955.
In 1993, he retired from Stone and Webster Management Consultants, Inc., as an executive consultant after 21 years of employment.
Mr. Murray had also worked for Brockton Edison Co. as a treasurer.
He served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Murray was a past president of the Bridgewater Lions Club; former member of the Bridgewater Knights of Columbus Council 488; and former member of the JC's in Bridgewater.
He was the treasurer of the Bridgewater youth football and served on the Bridgewater School Committee.
Mr. Murray was formerly active in the Old Colony Boy Scouts and he was also a pilot.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Patrick J. Murray Jr. and Jack T. Murray, both of Bridgewater, Keith M. Murray of Trenton, Mich., and Kathleen A. Scapicchio of Boston; three brothers, Maurice Murray and Michael Murray, both of Connecticut and Timothy Murray of Florida; a sister, Katherine Sequeira of Connecticut; his grandchildren, Christopher Landvay, Stephen Prisco, Monica, Patrick, Andrea, Ryan and Sean Murray, and Eva and Emma Scapicchio. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins and the Perry family. He was brother to the late Sean Murray and Mary Perrotti.
His funeral service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Monday, April 5, from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Burial will be in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
