Obituary

Ronald E. “Bucky” Scully, age 71, of East Bridgewater, formerly or Brockton, died peacefully February 25, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband for 46 years of Lauraine J. ( Pearson ) Scully. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, Bucky was the son of the late Gordon and Beatrice (Mutch) Scully. He had been employed for 40 years by the City of Brockton, in the Highway Department, retiring in January 2000 as a General Foreman. Bucky enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was also a member of the Polish White Eagles for over ten years, a member of the Maple Alley Bowling League for several years, enjoyed deep sea fishing, hunting, playing slot machines at Foxwoods and playing cards at family gatherings.

In addition to his wife Lauraine, he is survived by his children Jean Cotreau and her husband John of Taunton, Ronald E. Scully and his wife Linda of Whitman, Henry G. Scully and his wife Elaine of Bridgewater, Richard E. Scully and his wife Kim of Hanson, Laurie J. Merrey of East Bridgewater and Jeffrey A. Scully who is currently serving in the US Marine Corps. He also leaves 16 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters Frances M. Noonan of West Bridgewater and Joan E. Scully of Brockton and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Gordon R. Scully, Jr. and Robert M. Scully.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Friday 4-7pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 10am.
