Sherla Jean Ward, 75, of Fitzgerald, died Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 1 in the Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Hand and the Rev. Robert Chaudoin officiating.
Mrs. Ward was born January 18, 1937 in Plant City, Florida to the late Jesse H. and Estelle Harrod McNeal. She graduated from Turkey Creek High School in Plant City. Mrs. Ward was a homemaker and moved to Fitzgerald in 1976 from Atlanta. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ray A. Ward of Fitzgerald; daughters and son-in-law, Linda Kay & Terry Treadwell and Brenda Rae Ward of Fitzgerald and Ann Marie Ward of Los Angeles, CA; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sister, Daisy Nell Pierce of Greenville, TN. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald McNeal and a sister, Celia Ruth Walker.
