In Taunton, February 25, 2012, Mary L. Henrique, age 85, of Taunton died at home following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Arthur Henrique. Mary was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Frank & Elizabeth (Leal) White. She was a graduate of Taunton High School, Magna Cum Laude, class of 1944, Truesdale Nursing School 1962 and UMASS Dartmouth 1973. She is listed in Who’s Who in American Nursing. She was an active member of Morton Hospital Retiree’s, Truesdale Hospital Nurses Alumni, Fall River Diocese of Catholic Nurses. Mary spent several years teaching at Truesdale Nursing School and at UMASS. She was the staff nurse at Morton Hospital before becoming Director of Nurses at Wedgemere Nursing Home where she stayed until her retirement in 1987. Mary also was an avid reader, enjoyed genealogy and above all cherished her time with family. Mary was the mother of the late Arthur Henrique Jr. and Arlene (Henrique) Lavoie and her husband Richard of Taunton. She also leaves six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, two brothers; Enos White of Lakeville and Robert White of Georgia, one sister Elizabeth Wertenberger of Taunton and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. Taunton, MA 02780 on Thurs., March 1st at 10am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Weds from 5-7pm. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
