Mr. Gordon Ashton, a resident of Middleton and beloved husband of Pauline Ashton, died at his home on Thursday afternoon, February 23, 2012. He was 89 years old.
Born in Medford on November 2, 1922, he was the beloved son of the late Albert and Ethel (Locke) Ashton. Mr. Ashton was the proprietor of the Ashton Fuel Corp. in Somerville for many years. He had also worked as an electrician. Gordon was a former member of the Somerville Lions Club as well as a Mason in Medford and a member of the Shriners Lodge in Wilmington.
Besides his beloved wife, Pauline, Gordon will be very sorely missed by his loving son, Kenneth and his wife, Sandra Ashton of Middleton.
His funeral service was celebrated in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at 10:30 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Calling hours were held on Monday, February 27, 2012, from 4 to 8 PM. Burial was in Oak Dale Cemetery in Middleton.
