Obituary

CHICOPEE – Ronald R. “Ronnie” Rouillard, Sr., 80, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2012. He entered into Eternal Life from Wingate at Wilbraham surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family and his wonderful caregivers. He was born in Holyoke on December 8, 1931, a beloved son of the late Robert J. and Lillian M. (Mainville) Rouillard. He was raised in the Fairview section of Chicopee, graduated in 1950 from Chicopee High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War and attained the rank of Commissaryman Petty Officer Third Class. Following his military service, he returned to Chicopee and was employed for 25 years at the Pioneer Packaging Company in Chicopee and retired as the plant manager in 1996. He was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee and a member of the Willimansett American Legion Post 353. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by: his loving wife, Carol E. (Ostiguy) Rouillard who passed away on February 27, 1985; and his dear brother and sister, Robert Rouillard and Shirley Baker. He leaves: his loving children, Debra A. Goraj and her husband, David, of Monson, Cheryl J. Enko and her husband, William, of Palmer, Donna L. Rouillard and her partner, Taryn K. Adams, of Portland, ME and Ronald R. Rouillard, Jr. and his partner, Robert T. Craig, of Springfield; his seven cherished grandchildren; his nine cherished great-grandchildren; and several dear nephews and nieces. His funeral will be held on Wednesday morning, February 22, 2012, beginning from the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial with Military Honors will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning, February 22, 2012, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
