Obituary

CHICOPEE – Rosalie F. (Spero) Ramos, 83, of the Fairview section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Sunday, January 29, 2012. She passed into Eternal Life from her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers from Baystate Visiting Nurse and Hospice. She was born in Mount Vernon, New York on January 6, 1929, a beloved daughter of the late Francesco P. and Victoria F. (Razowski) Ramos. She was raised in Mount Vernon, attended local schools and moved to Chicopee in 1954. She was employed as a case worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance in Springfield and retired in 2001. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee where she was a member of their Saint Anne Sodality Guild and a member of the church choir. She was a volunteer at the Chicopee Senior Center and at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was a quiet woman who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She leaves: her loving daughters, Vicki M. Philhower and her husband, Jeffrey of Morristown, NJ and Stella L. Curtin and her husband, Mark of Chicopee; her four cherished grandchildren, Timothy M. Curtin, Sara R. Lechnet and her husband, Tony, Angela L. Pedersen and her husband, Daniel and Zachary P. Curtin and Nadine Cote; her three cherished great-grandchildren, Liam A. Lechner, Rose L. G. Lechner and Mason F. Pedersen; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be private at the convenience of her family. There are no visiting hours. Her funeral arrangements has been entrusted to the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 or to the Children’s Miracle Network at Baystate Medical Center, 280 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01199.
