SALEM - Victoria G. Zdanowicz, age 101, a lifelong resident of Salem, until moving to Peabody in 2008, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Peabody.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Stefan and Antonina (Marcisak) Zdanowicz.
Prior to her retirement in the mid 1970's, she was employed as an executive secretary by GTE Sylvania for over 40 years.
Miss Zdanowicz enjoyed shopping, traveling, and line dancing at the Salem Council on Aging. She was known to all as a gracious lady, always kind and considerate. Vicki, we will miss your bright smile and those big blue eyes. We wish to thank the staff at Rosewood Nursing Center, especially the first floor staff as well as the staff from Hospice of the North Shore, for their compassionate care.
Vicki is survived by two sisters, Henrietta Batchelder and Jane Melody, and a sister-in-law, Gertrude Zdanowicz, all of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Helen Duda and four brothers, Joseph, Frank, Edmund and John Zdanowicz.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 10 am at the St. John The Baptist Church, Salem, followed by a committal service at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
