WESTON: Joan Kenney Ferrelli, 86, of Weston and Dennis passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012 surrounded by her family.
Joan was born in Weston on May 13, 1925 the daughter of the late Karl E. Kenney and Susanne Z. (Johnson) Kenney.
Joan was raised in Weston and Wayland and graduated from Weston High School with the Class of 1942. She continued her education and attended the University of Arizona in Tuscon. Joan was an avid equestrian, Latin scholar and beach lover.
She was the wife of the late James “Pappy” Ferrelli who died in 1991. She was the loving mother of Roger “Kim” Ferrelli; Karla Ferrelli and her husband John Bertelsen; Russell “Ruddy” Ferrelli and his wife Janie; Tina Chartrand and her husband William; Joseph Ferrelli and his wife Wendy and Jamie Ferrelli and his wife Maria. She leaves her grandchildren Brooke, Gregg, Marc, Sears, Rachel, Joey, Jennie, Sarah, Jack and Teddy. She was pre-deceased by her sisters, Susan Knapp and Lois Egan and her brother Russell Kenney.
Her family will receive family and friends at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Route 30), Wayland on Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 1:30 to 3:00 pm followed by her private family service and interment.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that memorial gifts in Joan’s memory be sent to Buddy Dog Humane Society, 151 Boston Post Rd, Sudbury, MA 01776 and would be appreciated.
Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Wingate at Sudbury for their loving care over the past six and a half years.
