Obituary

LEICESTER: Janet A. (Cherry) LaPage,89 formerly of 1671 Main St., Leicester died Monday, Feb. 20 at UMASS Memorial Hospital, 119 Belmont St., Worcester.

She was the wife of Kenneth R. LaPage who died in 2010. She leaves her daughter Linda L. Belair of Worcester, a grandson Andrew J. Belair of Webster, her brother Donald A. Cherry, Sr. and his wife Teena of Leicester, several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by brothers Douglas Cherry, Jr. and Wallace Cherry.

Janet was a bookkeeper at Fairlawn Hospital in Worcester from 1974-88. She was also a volunteer in its Gift Shop for 19 ½ years. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Rochdale, The Leicester Red Hat Society, Rochdale American Legion Women’s Auxillary and a former member of the Spencerian Chapter of the Eastern Star.

Born in Holden, she was the daughter of Douglas T. and Elsa E. (Larson) Cherry, Sr. and later graduated from Leicester High School.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 24 at 11a.m. in the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St. Leicester. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be held on Friday from 10 to 11a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the Leicester Public Library Renovation Fund, 1136 Main St., Leicester 01524 or Christ Church, P.O. Box 142, Rochdale, Ma. 01542.
