Arlene M. Keane, 82

Dateline: Foxboro, MA

Arlene M. (Anderson) Keane, 82, of Foxboro, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday February 22, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the beloved wife of the late John A. Keane, who died Feb. 24, 2006.
Born in Milford, MA on September 13, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Axel and Alyce (Hatch) Anderson.
A Mansfield native, Arlene grew up and was educated in Mansfield and was a 1947 graduate of Mansfield High School. While in high school she served as class secretary and was captain of the girls basketball team.
A dedicated homemaker to her loving family, Mrs. Keane had also worked for 17 years at the Patrick Lyons Greenhouse in Foxboro, and when younger was employed at the former Lords Pharmacy in Mansfield.
A resident of Foxboro for the past 56 years, her greatest joy was raising her six children. She enjoyed reading, family vacations and especially, cake and ice cream for breakfast. Arlene was also a member of the DAR in Mansfield
Mrs. Keane had a special fondness and respect for animals. She will be greatly missed by her dog and faithful friend “Allie”
She is survived by her devoted children; Nancy A. Price and her husband Ron of Newton, Deborah L. Sarro of Foxboro, Mary F. Sarro and her husband Fred of Conway, NH, John R. “Jack” Keane and his wife Beverly of Norton, Janelle E. Lyons and her husband Ray of Foxboro and James K. Keane and his wife Kathi of Flower Mound, Texas. The sister of Andrew “Binky” Anderson of Yarmouthport, Kathleen Anderson of Portsmouth, RI and the late Judy, Peter, and John, she is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Karen, Joe, Jim, Angela, Greg, Brendan, Kendall and Jack, great grandchildren; Hannah, Luke and Charlie, and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday February 27th at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Foxboro.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday February 26th from 4-7 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
