Obituary

PELHAM, NH – Florence C. Regan, a lifelong resident of Methuen died February 20, 2012 after a period of declining health. Florence was born and educated in Methuen and was the daughter of Joseph and Salome (Vickers) Shay. She was also the widow of John J. Regan, Sr. who died in 1977.
Florence retired from Western Electric in 1986. During her retirement she worked part time at Saint Monica’s rectory as a housekeeper, was member of Saint Monica’s Sodality and was a prolific knitting enthusiast. However, the most important aspect of her life was truly her family. She always had a houseful of family, friends and good food. Florence was a great cook and the whole family benefitted from her terrific culinary creations.
Mrs. Regan is survived by her daughter Donna Regan of Pelham, New Hampshire with whom she lived for the final months of her life. Her son John and his wife Karen of Methuen, Massachusetts, son Daniel and his wife Patricia of Wailuku, Hawaii. Her grandchildren include John and his wife Jacqueline of Lutz, Florida, Thomas and his wife Lynne of Hollis, New Hampshire, Keith and his wife Lynn, Christopher, and Jennifer Kushi and her husband Al all of Hawaii, Tara Livingston and her husband Steven of Derry, New Hampshire and Jaclyn Lewandowski of Seekonk, Massachusetts. Florence was predeceased by her grandson Eric Lewandowski. She also leaves a large and loving group of great grandchildren, nieces, grandnieces, grandnephews and her nephew, John Carney of Pennsylvania.
Florence was predeceased by her sisters Anna Crosson, Margaret Cummings, Helen Carney, Elizabeth Hanlon, Agnes Hynes and brothers Joseph, George and Francis.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice 360 Merrimack St. BLDG 9 Lawrence, MA 01843.
A Mass of Christian burial to which relatives and friends are invited will take place on Fri day morning at 9 o’clock in Saint Monica’s Church in Methuen.

At the family’s request there will be no calling hours and burial PRIVATE.
