Leslie E. Holland

Born May 3, 1921-Died February 16, 2012


Son of Eva Julia Truchon and Joseph Holland. He is survived by his five sons Karl E. Holland of Kentucky, Robert E. Kelly of California, George L. Holland, James S. Holland, Todd L. Holland all of Worcester; Daughters Wendy M. Hagan of Delaware and Star M. Holland of Worcester, and one surviving brother Orace “Buddy” Holland of Paxton MA. Leslie had a large extended family of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Through the Lord’s Guidance, Leslie will join his wife, Rose I (Morang) Holland; Brothers Robert, Joseph, and Chester, and his daughter Darlene E. Norton.
Leslie’s trade as an engineer spanned more than 50 years. He has contributed to the consults, designs and development of many large steel structures; including a local market, helping to develop it from one store to a large chain. Leslie was politically active always striving for the best interests of the city and its residents. His last efforts were focused on saving Green Hill Park thus honoring the original Ancestral, Green Hill park Deed. He devoted himself to his family and the preservation of its history. His beautiful smile will be missed. Mr. Leslie E. Holland served in World War II in Guadalcanal when he experienced and suffered traumatic eye injury. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
A private graveside service will be held at Hope Cemetery on Friday February 24 at 11am. There are no calling hours. A gathering will be held at the Masonic Lodge on Ionic Ave in Worcester from 12-4 pm. Alfred Roy and Sons Funeral 12 Hammond St. is directing arrangements.
