WORCESTER-Teresa M. (Gallagher) Johnson, 89 of 6 Agawam Street died Friday, April 2nd in her home after a short illness. Her husband Francis J. Johnson died in 2000. She leaves a son Daniel M. Johnson of Worcester, 2 daughters Katherine A. Lawton of Worcester and Marie F. Johnson with whom she lived, 2 sisters Louise M. Cameron of Chicago and Frances Cote of Northborough, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. 3 sons predeceased her they were, Richard C. Johnson killed in action in Vietnam in 1966, Douglas E. Johnson died in 1994 and Francis J. Johnson, Jr. died in 1998. 6 brothers Louis, Daniel, Douglas, Robert, Gregory and Joseph Gallagher, and 3 sisters Patricia Burley, Rita O’Henley and Rose McKenna predeceased her.
She was born in Newburg, New Brunswick, Canada the daughter of Frank and Katherine (Mulheron) Gallagher and had lived in Worcester for many years. Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of Woodstock High School in New Brunswick. She was a member of St. Peter’s Parish and it’s Woman’s Guild. Mrs. Johnson was very active in family affairs, and her favorite times were spent with family and friends. She was known for her bread baking especially her brown breads and her fabulous Sunday dinners. She was an avid bowler with St. Peter’s Bowling League and had won many bowling trophies.
The funeral is Monday, April 5th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at Noon in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
