Obituary

Madeline S. "Nanee" (Silva) Tinkham of Fairhaven died February 19, 2012 at Tobey Hospital peacefully after a wonderful life.
She was the wife of the late Howard G. Tinkham.
Born in New Bedford on May 14, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Antonio G. and Emma G. (Vieira) Silva, she lived in New Bedford before moving to Fairhaven.
She was formerly employed by Morse Twist Drill and later at S.S. Kresge's as personnel manager until her retirement.
Mrs. Tinkham was a graduate of New Bedford High School.
She loved to read but her greatest joy was her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Oliveira and her husband Leonard of Rochester; 3 grandchildren, Michael H. Oliveira and his wife Deborah of Fairhaven, Kerrie Oswald and her husband Michael of Dartmouth and Ashley Hutton and her husband Jeremy of Wrentham; and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Albert, Wilfred, Fred, Carl and Helen Silva.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett Thursday, February 23rd at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in Rochester at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd from 4-8 PM.
