In Taunton, of Washington Street, February 19, 2012 Charles J. “Buddy” husband of Irene (Gamache) Kelly of sixty three years, died at Taunton Nursing Home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s at the age of 86. Born in Taunton, Charles was the son of the late Cornelius J. and Annie (Dugan) Kelly. Charles was a graduate of St. Mary’s Grammar School and Taunton High School class of 1943. After graduation Charles enlisted into the US Navy serving during WWII. Charles last worked at Olsen’s Greenhouses in Raynham then the Taunton and Raynham Dog Track and also as an Electricall Maintenance Repair Man for TMLP. He was a member of the PACC and he loved working in his garden. Charles was the father of Carol Tapis and her husband Paul of Taunton, Charles J. Kelly Jr and his wife Rebecca of Evansville, Indiana and Peter Kelly and his wife Lee Ann of Lexington, Ma. Brother of Cornelius Kelly Jr of Taunton and the late Helen Corr, Prescilla Hayes and John Kelly. Grandfather of Ten and three Great Grandchildren. Brother in-law of Marguerite Kelly of Taunton, Dorothy Whiting of Fl and Joyce Archer of Raynham. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Thursday, February 23rd at 9 AM. A Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Taunton at 10 AM. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton. In lieu of flowers donations in Charles memory may be made to St. Mary’s Primary School, 106 Washington Street, Taunton, Ma, 02780.
