Johnny Lee Owens, 63, of Enigma died Sunday, February 19, 2012, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in Tift Memorial Gardens. Rev. John Harrington will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Owens was born on March 7, 1948 in Haysi, Virginia and was the son of Garmon Lee Owens and Lucy Deal Ellerbee, both deceased. He was a diesel mechanic and a certified welder and a member of Enigma United Methodist Church. He had lived in Enigma since 1986.
Mr. Owens is survived by his wife, Lois Lester Owens of Fort Worth, Texas; one son, Ricky L. Owens of Fort Worth, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa Lee and Benny Fabila of Fort Worth, Texas, Jill and George Bonilla of Enigma and Christie Leann and Charles Hooper of Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Barry and Barbara Owens of Quitman and Mark G. and Peggy Owens of Tifton; nine grandchildren, Clay Fabila, Mariah Fabila, Angel Fabila, Sammy Fabila, Tudy Fabila, Laura Fabila, Charles Ray Hooper III, Christian Hooper and Hayden Hooper; one niece, Stephanie Rowland; and one nephew, Tim Owens.
