MARY ANNE BUTNER LAIRD, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Baptist Hospital East.
Mary Anne was a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy Academy and the University of Louisville School of Radiology, having worked at the old General Hospital and the former Audubon Hospital. She was a member of the Our Lady of Mercy Alumni Assoc., a volunteer at Valley High School, on the Board at the Prairie Village Baseball/Softball Assoc., and a very dedicated worker at the Shawnee Masonic Lodge #830.
She was preceded in death by her brother, William F. Butner, Jr.; her maternal grandparents, Frank A. and Florence A. Gentile; and Roberta Gentile; and her paternal grandparents, James Brent Butner and Lavada M. Butner.
Mary Anne is survived by her husband, Harold Richard Laird; her daughter, Jennifer Estes and her son Jack Estes; her parents, William F., Sr. and Angela Butner; her sister, Donna L. Mattingly (Karl Stelly); her brother, Patrick A. Butner (Kelly) and her sister-in-law Patty Butner Geracitano (Tony). Mary Anne is also survived by her step-children, Jimmy Estes (Rebecca Collier), Sara Ender (Joe), Richard Laird (Katie) and Jenna Laird; her mother and father-in-law, Carroll and Christine Laird, and her brothers-in-law, Geary Laird (Terri) and Jodie Laird (Tammy).
Mary Anne was not only a daughter, wife, mother, sister, she was also an Aunt to many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. She never met a stranger and was always one to give and help whenever and wherever she could. Her love for bingo brought her many friendships which she truly treasured.
Her funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 at Saint Martha Catholic Church, 2825 Klondike Lane, Louisville, Ky.
Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be noon until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Ky.
