WEBSTER, MA/WILLIMANTIC, CT - Lucille J. (Duchesneau) Rydzowski, 88, formerly of Willimantic, CT, a beloved mother and grandmother, went home to the Lord Wednesday, February 15, 2012 in Oakwood Rehab & Nursing Center surrounded by her loving family. Her beloved husband of 56 years, Stanley F. "Sam" Rydzowski, passed in 2000. She was also preceded in death by her sons Glenn and Gary Rydzowski.
She leaves a son, Randy J. Rydzowski and his loving girlfriend Beth Donovan of Willimantic; a daughter, Lisabeth M. Adamick and her husband David of Thompson, CT; five grandchildren, Joseph, Matthew, Alexander, Katherine and Jacob, who were the light of her life; two brothers, Gene Duchesneau of Willimantic and Connie Duchesneau of California; and two sisters, Marcella Riggles of Windsor and Viola Ferrigno of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
She was born and raised in Willimantic, one of the ten children of Joseph and Evelyn Duchesneau, and lived there most of her life. She moved to Webster 5 years ago.
Along with her husband, Mrs. Rydzowski owned and operated the Home Video Store in Coventry, CT for 20 years, retiring in1999. She also worked part-time as an operator at Willimantic Answering Service.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church and then of St. Marys Church, both in Willimantic. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Willimantic Country Club for over 40 years. She enjoyed bowling and traveling with her husband. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 25, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson Street, Willimantic. Donations in her name may be made to Oakwood Rehab & Nursing Center Patient Activities Fund, 11 Pontiac Avenue, Webster, MA 01570. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, MA.
