Obituary

WORCESTER-Louise E. (Donahue) Kennedy, 87, of 59 Wildwood Avenue died Thursday, April 1st in her home. She leaves her husband of 64 years David W. Kennedy, 2 sons David W. Kennedy, Jr. and his wife Mary of Winthrop, Daniel J. and his wife Mary Kennedy of Holden, a daughter Sheila I. wife of James Altobelli of North Brookfield, 2 brothers Joseph Donahue of Albany, NY and James Donahue of Worcester, 2 sisters Marion Compe of Deland, FL and Kathryn Camp of Mannihawkin, NJ, a daughter-in-law Lana Kennedy of Columbus, NE, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Her son Dennis R. Kennedy and a sister Irene Johnson predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of Joseph and Marion (Leonard) Donahue. Mrs. Kennedy was a graduate of the Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing, and had worked as a registered nurse at City Hospital and as a private duty nurse retiring in 1977. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church. In 1935 she became the Eastern United States Woman’s Single Sculling Champion.

The funeral is Saturday, April 3rd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 8:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park. Calling hours are Friday, April 2nd from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
