Obituary

Albert Bratton Robertson was born on December 29, 1927 to the late Desiree and Albert Robertson in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was the youngest of four children and was predeceased by hi brother, Rev. Richard Bratton, a sister, Flonnie Mae Dunkin and both his parents.
After graduating from the Brooklyn school system, Albert joined the US Army. After returning from service, he attended the Delahanky Institute. In 1947, Albert was united in Holy Matrimony to Audrey E. King. From this union, three children were born and Albert moved his family from New York City to Teaneck, NJ in 1962.
Albert worked for the New York City Transit Authority. From There he Joined the New York City Police Department until retirement. In 1975 Albert received a Medal of Honor for his courageous service in the line of duty.
Albert leaves behind one sister, Louise Ellis, wife; Audrey Robertson, three children; Cassandra E. Briscoe, Albert S Robertson and Constance M Gailes, eight grandchildren; Garvin S. Emory (Bear), Shond D. Ponder (Richard), William G. Robertson (Aprille), Simone D. Robertson, Monteira C. Robertson, Lauryne Briscoe, Reginald Gailes ( Crystal), Jason D Gailes, Sixteen Great grandchildren and one Great great grandchild, Kamani Marie Brown.
Friends and relatives may call on Saturday from 11 –12 PM at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ. A Funeral service will follow at 12 PM.
