Obituary

Antonio M. “Tony” Alba, 75, of Framingham, passed away unexpectedly on February 15, 2012 at the Metro West Medical Center in Framingham. He was the beloved husband of Rita (Ambrosini) Alba with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.
Born in Santa Clara, Cuba, the son of the late Miguel and Flora (Portal) Alba, Mr. Alba came to America in the late 1950’s and settled in Framingham. He was employed as a machine operator at the ITT-Continental Baking Company in Natick for 27 years and was a member of the Bakery and Confectionary Union. Mr. Alba will be remembered as always providing for his family with an extremely strong work ethic. He loved cooking, especially Cuban food, playing Bingo, and was a true sports enthusiast with a great fondness for baseball.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by 4 children, Brian Hendrix and his wife Gail of Marlborough, Wanda Navarro and her husband James of Brimfield, Paul Alba of Henderson, NV, and Carola Alba of Framingham and 6 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Peter, and Stefanie Navarro, and Brandon, Tyler, and Tiana Hendrix. He was the brother of Nicolasa Mirabal of Framingham, Elsa and Arsenio of West Palm Beach, FL, Elida and Juanita of Cuba, Robert of Manhattan, New York, and the late Carlos and Maria del Carmen. He was the brother-in-law of Arthur and Barbara (Ambrosini) Santos of Kissimmee, FL, formerly of New York City, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his beloved Plott Hound “Amy”.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend his funeral on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) Natick. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2012 from 4-6 PM.
