Obituary


Norbert E. Abraham, of Medford, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday. He was 82.

Norbert was born and raised in Black Wolf Township, Wisconsin, the son of the late Alfred and Esther (Medaus) Abraham. He entered the Army and served during the Korean War. After his discharge, he attended and graduated from Marquette University, where he studied engineering. After graduation he was employed as an electrical and mechanical engineer at Draper Laboratories in Cambridge. There he participated in many projects that would shape generations such as the Apollo spacecraft and the development of deep submersible rescue crafts. Though modest about his professional accomplishments he was proud to serve his nation and devoted to his children and family.

The beloved companion of Eleanor “Ellie” O’Neil of Medford, he was a devoted father to Noreen Abraham of Groveland, Linda Abraham and her husband David Jurk of Michigan, Norbert Abraham, Jr and his wife Kathleen of Salem NH, Daryl Lee Abraham of New Mexico, Douglas Q Abraham and his wife Debra of Topsfield, Lauren Pietrafetta and her husband Matt of Chicago. He was a loving grandfather to 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He leaves his siblings: Lavern Wolf, Irma Draves and Orville Abraham all of Wisconsin.

His Funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday, February 20th at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment private. Visiting hours Sunday 4 - 8.
