WORCESTER-Joy D. (Quilliam) Murphy, 65, of 71 Birch Street, died Thursday, April 1st in U-Mass Memorial Healthcare after a long illness. She leaves her husband of 45 years, William F. Murphy, 4 sons, Michael J. and his wife Catherine S. Murphy of Worcester, Thomas J. and his wife Burani Murphy of Worcester, James J. and his wife Jaye-Erin Murphy of Leicester and Stephen P. and his wife Paula Murphy of Sutton, a daughter, Kathleen J. Barrett of Worcester, a brother, Thomas G. Quilliam of Spencer, a sister, Linda Gelinas of Grovetown, GA, 13 grandchildren, several nephews and nieces and her dear childhood friend, Carole Courville of Worcester.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Henry G. and Mabel E. (Sanguinet) Quilliam and graduated from Commerce High School. Mrs. Murphy was employed at New England Telephone several years ago. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church, enjoyed flowers, reading and was a loving and devoted grandmother.
The funeral is Monday, April 5th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, April 4th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
