Obituary

NATICK: John Francis “Jack” Lupien, 80 died peacefully under the care and comfort of his family at his residence on Tuesday, February 14, 2012.
He was born in Natick on March 7, 1931 the son of the late Alphonse and Ellen (McSweeney) Lupien formerly of Cochituate.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years Dorothy M. (Dupree) Lupien of Natick. Loving father of Linda Mongiat and her husband Michael Mongiat of Upton, John F. Lupien, Jr. and his wife Martha Lupien of Holliston and Laurie Freitas and her husband and her husband Larry Freitas of Blackstone. Cherished grandfather of Justin and his wife Jody Lupien of Salem, Jessica Lupien and Josh Reece of Millis, Kyle Lupien of Salem, Rebecca Mongiat of Millbury, Pamela Mongiat of Auburn, Samantha Freitas and Zachary Freitas both of Blackstone. He was the brother of Dorothy DesChamps of Ashland, Robert Lupien of Framingham, Jim Lupien of Sudbury and Thomas Lupien of Cochituate. Also survived by his brother-in-law Fred Dupree of Garland, Maine and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Patricia Leary and Dennis Lupien.
Jack has resided in Natick for over 57 years and spent his formative years in Cochituate. He graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1950. He served his country proudly as a Sergeant with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He retired as a Mechanical Engineer in 1986 from the Natick Army Labs after 33 years of dedicated service. He attended Northeastern University in Boston, was a member of Mass Radio and TV and was also a licensed real estate agent in the local area. He was a life member of the Natick Elks and a member of the AMVETS DAV. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather to his family and will be missed greatly by them.
His visitations will be held on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Bryant Memorial Chapel of the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Rd (Off Rte 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Lupien family lot in Lakeview Cemetery, Commonwealth Rd (Route 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests that memorial gifts in Jack’s memory be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
