WORCESTER-Irene J. (Fournier) Reardon, 87, of Worcester died Monday, February 13th in Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Her husband of 35 years, Daniel F. Reardon died in 2010 and her first husband of 25 years, Adelard J. Beaudoin died in 1972. She leaves two sons, Paul W. Beaudoin and his wife, Carol Messier of Cherry Valley and Peter R. Beaudoin of Worcester; four daughters, Carolyn L. Bourget and her husband, William of Worcester, Joan H. Recore and her husband, Mark of Worcester, Gail M. Stuczko and her husband, Edward of Auburn and Anne M. Reardon and her husband, Michael of Paxton; two step-sons, Daniel L. Reardon and his wife, Sharon of West Boylston and Thomas P. Reardon and his wife, Anne of Spencer; a step-daughter, Mary K. Raskett and her husband, Jerald of Worcester; a brother, Joseph Robert Fournier of Fitchburg; a sister, Doris Bissonette of London, OH; 18 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Florence St. Cyr and Rita Fournier predeceased her.
Mrs. Reardon was born in Fitchburg, the daughter of J. Wilfred and Louise (Sarasin) Fournier. Irene graduated from St. Bernard’s High School and St. Vincent School of Nursing. After nursing school, Irene served in the Army Corps of Nurses. She was a registered nurse and worked at both Burbank Hospital and St. Vincent Hospital. Irene was a member of St. George’s Church and the New England Quilters Guild. She taught quilting for many years at Worcester Nightlife. Irene was a soft spoken woman and a great listener. She loved her family and spent many hours with her grandchildren. She was blessed to have found lasting love in her long-term marriages to both Al and Dan. Irene’s gentle, understanding personality blended two families together in love. We will all truly miss her.
The funeral is Friday, February 17th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, February 16th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
