Herdecenia Wimberly was born in McGhee, Arkansas to the late Dave and Etta Moore.
Herdecenia professed her hope in Christ and was baptized at Evening Star Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.
She attended and graduated from Wolf Project High School in McGhee, Arkansas. After graduating from Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock, Arkansas, Herdecenia attended the University of Wisconsin and received her Master’s in Education. She taught elementary school in both McGhee, Arkansas and Detroit, Michigan until she retired.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Curtis Wimberly and to this union one child was born.
She was preceded in death by devoted companion Grady Williams.
On February 10, 2012, Herdecenia transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home. To cherish her memories she leaves her loving daughter Celeste (Hosea who was loved like a son) Hanson, sisters; Ruth M. McDaniel, Josie M. (Earl) Scott, nephew (like a brother); Charles T. (Maxine) Reed, adopted son; Oliver Grady, sister-in-law; Celestine Sims, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11 AM at Word of Faith Christian Center, Funeral Services to follow at 11 AM with Pastor Henry Coles, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery Nortjh, Goodlettsville, TN.
