Belmont-----Rita R. Osgood, 91, formerly of 12 Heritage Terrace, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Friday, February 10, 2012.
Mrs. Osgood was born February 3, 1921 in Belmont, the daughter of Edward and Rose (Gilbert) Lacasse. She was a longtime resident of the Lakes Region.
Survivors include a son, Richard Gilbert and his wife Gayla of Belmont; a daughter, Germaine Foster, and her husband, Bert, of Canterbury; three stepdaughters, Carol Merrill of Florida, Doris Palmer of Belmont and Beverly Gordon of Florida; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and three nieces. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Rosario Gilbert, in 1953, her second husband, Harold Osgood in 1984, a daughter, Linda Vaillancourt, a stepson, Kenneth Osgood, in 2012, a sister, Dorothy Pelillo, and by a brother, Norman Lacasse, in 2003.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday February 15, 2012 from 4-7 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street, Belmont, N.H.
Burial will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 9:00am in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield St., Laconia, N.H.
