Obituary

James A. "Jim" Notto, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, passed away into eternal life unexpectedly on Friday, February 10, 2012 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington. He was 60 years old.

Jim was born in Stoneham on May 11, 1951 to the late Joseph A. and Mildred A. (Volpe) Notto. He grew up in Wakefield where he attended Wakefield Public Schools and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1970. He enlisted into the United States Army on November 26, 1971 and served his country proudly and honorably during the Vietnam Conflict. He was discharged as a Private First Class on July 2, 1973. Jim worked for Raytheon Corporation in Andover as a painter for over 34 years before retiring in 2006.

Jim is the devoted father of Ashley J. Notto of Dracut and Ericka L. Notto of Dracut. He is the loving nephew of Bette Volpe of Wakefield. He is the beloved Papa of Jayden Anthony. He is the beloved brother of Joyce Gaudette and her husband Raymond of Peabody and Judi Maguire and her husband Peter of Westborough. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jim's Funeral on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Melrose/Wakefield line followed by his Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 10 a.m. Interment at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
