WORCESTER - Mr. Charles W. Evangeline, 82, passed away on Friday, February 10th, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Evangeline Jr. and his wife Doreen of Sutton; four grandchildren, Matthew Radcliffe of Watertown, David Radcliffe and his wife Heather of Worcester, Nicholas Evangeline and Katherine Evangeline both of Sutton; a brother, James Evangeline and his wife Barbara of Auburn, three sisters, Evelyn DeCaro, Jean Troiano, and Janet Trottier and her husband Robert all of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews. Charles was born June 11, 1929 in Worcester, a son of the late Peter and Ida (Claflin) Evangeline.
A lifelong resident of Worcester, Charles served 14 months in Korea with the Army 73rd Engineer Combat Battalion. After leaving the service, he returned to a career as a Lithographic printer, working at several companies in the Worcester area. He retired on February 14, 1990.
Charles was a member of St Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in Worcester and the Korean War Veterans Association. He loved puttering around his home with its many fruit trees and gardens. He also liked to “take a ride” to the casinos whenever he got the chance. He had an uncanny knack for making people feel special. Above all else, Papoo was a devoted family man: his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
