Sophie A.(Kapinos) Yurkevicius, 88, of 32 Pine St., passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012 in the Oakwood Rehabilitation Center in Webster.
Her husband of 54 years, Joseph A. Yurkevicius died June 16,1999.
She is survived by five sons; Michael Yurkevicius and his wife Margaret of Webster, Thomas Yurkevicius , Joseph and his wife Susan ,James, and David Yurkevicius and his wife Lisa all of Dudley. Two daughters, Carol Jedynasty of Brookfield and Linda wife of Frank Perlak of Chicopee, 10 grandchildren
and 2 great grandchildren.
Sophie was born in Webster, the daughter of John and Anna (Polak) Kapinos and lived in Dudley most of her life.
She was predeceased by an infant daughter, two brothers, William and Albert Kapinos, a grandson, Brian Joseph Yurkevicius who died in 1993.
Her children were her life. She was totally dedicated to the safety and well being of her children, even as they became adults.
Sophie worked for many years at area shoe companies. She was a member of St. Andrew Bobola Church, was an avid doll collector, enjoyed
painting, braiding rugs and gardening, she also enjoyed going shopping, and cooking for her family.
She will be missed very much by her children, for a time will come, when we too shall die and join her in Heaven with her husband.
Calling Hours will be Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 4 to 7 PM at the Robert J. Miller Funeral Home and Lake Chapel, 366 School St., Webster.
The Funeral will be Monday, February 13, 2012 with a Mass at 10 AM at St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St., Dudley, burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery, next to her beloved husband.
