Abington – Norman E. Little Jr. died at the age of 72 at home on Thursday February 9 surrounded by his loving family, after a brief battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of 50 years to Patricia (Hines) Little.
Born in Brockton and raised in Rockland he was the son of the late Norman E. and Virginia (Molander) Little.
Before his retirement Norman worked for over 30 years as a boat builder for Boston Whaler and owned and operated his own towing company.
Norman was a deeply devoted family man and his greatest pleasure came from the time spent with his large family. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter.
In addition to his beloved wife Patricia he is survived by his loving children Norman Little of Brockton, Catherine Friend and her husband Bob of Raynham, Patrick Little of Brockton, and Eileen Brezina and her husband Paul of East Bridgewater, his siblings Virginia Chiulli of Rockland, Robert Little of Bourne, Paulette Donovan of Peabody, Joanne Marrese of Rockland, James Little of FL, Bradford Little of Pembroke, Darlene Marrese of Pembroke, Deborah Trechok of Rockland, Roger Little of SC, and Russell Little of Wareham. He was the brother of the late Wayne Little. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren whom he adored, as well as many nieces, nephews and many other cherished family members and friends. He leaves behind his cherished hunting dog “Nellie Mae”.
His services will be held Monday February 13 at 11:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by funeral mass at 12:00 PM in St. Bridget Church, Abington. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland. Visiting hours will be held Sunday February 12 from 3-7 PM.
