Obituary

TAUNTON – Alfred P. “Fred” Rodrigues, Sr., 57, died at his Taunton home on Feb. 8, 2012.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, the son of Margarida (Tavares) Rodrigues and the late Oliver Rodrigues, he moved to the Taunton area with his family at the age of three.
Raised and educated in Taunton, Fred later married his wife of thirty-four years, Georgette (Wilcox) Rodrigues.
He co-owned and operated One Call Does It with his brother for many years before retiring in 2004 due to illness.
Mr. Rodrigues was a communicant of St. Anthony Church and a former member of the Taunton Eagles.
An avid back-yard mechanic, Fred spent many hours rebuilding and collecting classic cars, and will be remembered for his favorite expression, “Mopar or no car”.
Besides his wife and mother both of Taunton, he leaves two sons, Oliver J. Rodrigues of Taunton, and Alfred P. Rodrigues, Jr. and his wife Amanda, also of Taunton; a brother, Joseph Rodrigues of Westport; a sister, Diane Rego of East Taunton; two grandchildren, Gavin P. and Gabrielle Rodrigues, both of Taunton; a niece, Michelle Rego; and four nephews, Duane and Evyn Rego, and Eric and Corey Rodrigues.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday Feb. 13th at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Mayflower Hill Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Feb. 12th from 5 to 8 p.m.
