Vernon Wilcox, age 79, of Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Mr. Wilcox was the son of the late Thomas James Wilcox and Lucy Merritt Wilcox Douglas. Mr. Wilcox was preceded in death by his wife: Violet Elma Butler Wilcox.
Mr. Wilcox is survived by. Six sons, Thomas Wilcox, David Wilcox, both of Jacksonville, FL. Harvey Wilcox, of Mobile, AL, Ricky Wilcox, of Homestead, FL, Benjamin Wilcox, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Scotty Wilcox, of Douglas, GA.; Two daughters: Debra Wilcox Vaughn, of Tamarac, FL, and Glenda Ingle, of Albemarle, NC.; One brother: Buddy Wilcox, of Sparks, GA.; Two sisters: Helen Boivin, and Lisa Wilcox, both of Jacksonville, FL.; Sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2012 from 5 to 9 PM.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 11 at 11 :00 a.m. at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home.
