TEWKSBURY - Laurence O. "Larry' Von Kahle, a member of a well known area family, died unexpectedly on February 9, 2012, at the Hannah-Duston Nursing Care Facility in Haverhill, following a long period of declining health.
He was born in Boston, December 8, 1939, a son of the late Herman and Marie (Harney) Von Kahle. He was raised in Wilmington, graduated from Wilmington High School and lived there the greater part of his life. He moved to Pembroke, Mass., but returned to live in Lowell in 1993.
He worked as a printing pressman for the American Mutual Insurance company in Wakefield, Goodall Sanford in North Reading, and Wal-Mart in Tewksbury, until retirement.
He was a member and honorary "Sachem" for the Redmen Club in Pembroke.
He is survived by his brother, Thomas and his wife Robyn (Parris) Von Kahle of Hampstead, NH; two sisters, Nita Roberts and her husband Kenneth of Salem, NH, Norine O'Connor and her husband Albert of Hampstead, NH; a sister-in-law, Judy (Craig) Von Kahle, who was the wife of James Von Kahle, who died two weeks ago; and many nieces and nephews.
Aside from his brother James, he was also predeceased by his brothers, William "Henry" Von Kahle, Herman Von Kahle Jr., and Bernard Von Kahle.
His Funeral Service was held Saturday, February 25, in the funeral home. Following cremation, he will join his brothers and their mother at Mt. Benedict Cemetery in Boston.
