TEWKSBURY: Jonathon T. Ward, age 41, a resident of Tewksbury for 15 years, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell.
He was the beloved husband to Melissa (Button) Ward.
Born in Lowell on October 28, 1970, he was the son of Karen (Strem) Ward of Dracut.
Jon was raised in Lowell, attended Lowell schools and graduated from Greater Lowell Vocational High School in 1989.
A welder and machinist by trade, Jon previously worked for Boston Centerless Company of Woburn for 5 years.
Jon gave his time, attention and love to the children in his life. A nurturing, caring and fun father as well as being an extremely caring uncle.
He was an avid New England sports fan and particularly enjoyed following the New England Patriots.
In addition to his wife and parents, Jon is survived by three children, Michael A. and Sophia N. Ward both of Tewksbury and Jonathon Santos of Lowell; two sisters, Laurie Ward of Lowell and Janine Cadger and her husband Jason of Dracut; three brothers, Walter of Chelmsford, Steven of Lowell and Mark of Coventry, RI; his mother-in-law; Michelle Button of Tewksbury; his father-in-law; Warren Button of New Hampshire; his sister in-law, Nichole and her husband Chip Nastasi and his adoring nephews, Cole and Sam all of Dracut, Dakota, Shane and Damon Ward of Tewksbury; his god-daughter, Amanda Lynn Mannion; also many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be Saturday, Feb. 11, from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, followed by Funeral Services to be held in the funeral home.
