Arthur Freundlich of Portland, ME and formerly of Winthrop, MA died on February 7, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor (Levin) Freundlich.
Arthur was born in Winthrop and had been a resident of Portland for the past 50 years. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Northeastern University and a Masters Degree from Boston University. Arthur was a practicing psychologist as well as a Professor of Psychology at Westbrook Junior College. He enjoyed singing, poetry, and was a wine connoisseur. Arthur was the devoted father of James Freundlich and his wife Catherine Brzozowski, Eve Brauner and her husband Steve, and Lisa Freundlich and her husband Dan Johnson. He was the loving grandfather of Kara and Mia.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, February 10 at 11:00 AM at the Birsen Cemetery, 232 Fuller Street, Everett, MA. Contributions in Arthur’s memory may be made to the Bedford Veterans Administration, 200 Springs Road, Bedford, MA 01730 or to Hebrew Senior Life, 1200 Centre Street, Boston, MA 02131.
