Jean A. (Hutchings) (Buckman) Oicles 80, of Halifax, formerly of Tewksbury, Antrim, NH and East Bridgewater died Tuesday February 7th in the Life Care Center of Plymouth surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife and soul mate of Ralph Oicles, who predeceased her in July. They were married for over 60 years.
She was born in Whitman, daughter of the late Stephen and Sarah (Noyes) Hutchings.
Jean was a Halifax resident. There she was very active in the Halifax Mobile Home Association, Council on Aging, Meals on Wheels and the craft clubs.
She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post 8268.
Jean enjoyed walks on the beach and crocheting blankets and sweaters for her grandchildren.
She recently celebrated her 80th birthday, at a surprise party given by her children.
She is survived by her children, Robert and his wife Amelia of FL, Richard and his wife Cordelia of NH, William and his wife Dinah of Carver, David and his wife Krista of WA, Jeffery and his wife Greta of NJ, and Sandra and her husband Steve of FL. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews any many friends.
By request of the family all services and internment at the MA VA Cemetery, Bourne will be private.
