Whitney Janay Turner, age 24, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. Whitney was born October 2, 1987 in Grenada, MS to Billy Earl Turner and the late Ruby Walton Armstrong. Whitney was baptized at Chapel Hill MB Church in Water Valley, MS and she dearly loved her family and her friends at North MS Regional Center.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 2:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Rev. Jerome Battle officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery with Chris Turner, Tyrone Baker, Patrick Turner, Anthony Turner, Ken Mix and Joe W. Gilliard serving as pallbearers. Demetrius Armstrong, Billy Earl Turner, Jacova Jenkins, T.K. Townsend, James Walton and Ronnell Drane will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Whitney is survived by her father, Billy Earl Turner (Felicia) of Coffeeville, MS; her grandmothers, Cordia Walton of Water Valley and Annie Stokes (Willie) of Coffeeville, MS; one sister, Sequareah Sayles of Oxford, MS;three brothers, Demetrius Armstrong (Kyla) of Water Valley, MS, Jabari and Katerrio Turner both of Coffeeville, MS; six aunts, Dorothy Walton Jenkins (Henry) and Martha Walton both of Water Valley, MS, Whitney Long (Shawn) of Detroit, MI, Anita Turner of Coffeeville, MS, Bertha Pugh and Jessie Mix both of Memphis, TN; one uncle, James Walton of Water Valley, MS; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Walton Armstrong.
