Obituary

Perry A. Ring, 84, of Fitzgerald, died Monday, February 6, 2012, at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 9 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Dan Hayes and the Rev. Dewain Joiner officiating. Interment will follow in Lax Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mr. Ring was born July 7, 1927 in Irwinville to the late Johnny Ring and the late Annie Tucker Ring Duggan. He lived in Fitzgerald for the past fourteen years from Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Ring retired from Deep South and was a former employee of Skinner Dairy Farm and Flowers Bakery. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Ring attended The Church of The Nazarene in Fitzgerald.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Matilda Brady Ring of Fitzgerald; children, Patsy Padgett of Jacksonville, FL, Patricia (Ronnie) Rathburn and David (Angela) Ring, all of Fitzgerald; stepchildren, James A. Brady, Mary Ann (Jack) Garner and Troy Brady, all of Fitzgerald, Martha Nell (Emory) Walker of Douglas and Tammy (Tim) Hall of Cairo; 19 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; brothers, Monroe (Shirley) Ring of Fitzgerald, Milton (Willene) Ring of Tifton, Edward (Laverne) Ring of Fitzgerald and Herbert Ring of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Evone White of Marietta, Melvina (Nolan) Brewer of Lizella and Juanita (Bud) Wright of Liberty, SC as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Ruth Snyder and a brother, Donald Ring.
