Jean Paul Levasseur, 64, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Monday, February 6, 2012, at his residence.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 11, at Christian Fellowship Church in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating.
Mr. Levasseur was born January 26, 1948 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was raised by his late mother and stepfather, Dorothy Chatfield Fischer and Fred Fischer. He was a graduate of South Miami High School in Miami, Florida. Mr. Levasseur was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietman War Era. He moved to Mystic in 2008 and then to Fitzgerald in 2010. Mr. Levasseur was a retired Meat Manager for Kroger’s in Marion, ILL and was a former employee of Farris Steak House in Johnston City, ILL. He was a member of the Fitzgerald Christian Fellowship Church and the Men’s Fellowship.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene L. Levasseur of Fitzgerald; daughters, Dorene Wagner of Statesboro, Debrene Wagner of Fitzgerald, Kelly Levasseur and Jennifer Levasseur, both of Birmingham, AL and Danene (Brent) Waide of Greenville, IN; grandchildren, Brentlee Waide and Danee Waide; brothers, Mark Fischer and Robert Levasseur, both of Miami, FL; sisters, Kathy Schaffer and Suzi Fischer and a special sister, Delphene Denmark, all of Miami, FL as well as several nieces and nephews.
